Bio

Major Meagan E. Capra is the Operations Flight Commander for Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 595. She is responsible for the construction, management, and execution of all professional military training and cadet operations. She also teaches the Junior AS300 course.

Major Capra was commissioned from the United States Air Force Academy in May 2012 where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in English and stayed to serve as a Military Training Officer at the Preparatory School. Upon graduation from the Intelligence Officer Course, Major Capra supported the Personnel Recovery mission as the Chief of Intelligence Operations in the 347th Operations Support Squadron, Moody Air Force Base, Georgia. From there, Major Capra served at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas, as the Executive Officer of the 37th Training Wing where she directly supported the Air Force’s largest Training Wing in execution of graduating 86,000 personnel from 459 different courses to include the Technical Training of 56 Air Force Specialty Codes and Basic Military Training.

Major Capra transitioned to Shaw Air Force Base where she served at the 51st Intelligence Squadron as a Flight Commander leading 21 Airmen in conducting combat planning and execution of the Combined Forces Air Component Commander’s collection and exploitation operations. While there, she deployed to the 609th Air Operations Center at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar, where she served as the Deputy Chief of the Analysis, Correlation, and Fusion team, leading 63 combined members to deliver intelligence support for Operations INHERENT RESOLVE, FREEDOM’S SENTINEL, the Resolute Support mission and DELIBERATE RESOLVE. Upon her return, Major Capra served as the Assistant Director of Operations leading operations for 110 Airmen to deliver specialized regional analysis and targeting intelligence to the Commander of Air Forces Central Command.

Prior to assuming her current position, Major Capra was the 818th Operations Support Chief of Weapons and Tactics and the Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Liaison Officer for the 18th Airborne Corps at Pope Army Airfield, North Carolina.
