Bio
Major Kristen S. McCoy is an Assistant Professor of Aerospace Studies and the Education Officer of Air Force ROTC Detachment 595 at North Carolina State University, Raleigh. In this capacity she oversees standardization and evaluation of AFROTC curriculum within the Detachment and currently teaches the senior AS400 course.
Major McCoy graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2013 with a degree in Civil Engineering and went on to pilot training at Laughlin AFB, Texas. She has flown both the U-28A and MC-130J as an operational squadron instructor, accruing over 2,200 flight hours. She has served a total of five tours to Afghanistan, Iraq, Africa, and various European locations amassing nearly 700 combat hours in support of Operation Inherent Resolve and operation Freedom’s Sentinel.
