Captain Farrington

Captain Nathanael C. Farrington is an Associate Professor of Aerospace Studies (APAS) and the Education/Recruiting Officer at Detachment 595. As the Detachment Education/Recruiting Officer, Capt Farrington is responsible for the construction, management, and execution of all unit recruiting efforts. He also oversees standardization and evaluation of AFROTC curriculum within the Detachment. As APAS, Capt Farrington instructs Foundations of the Air Force for approximately 45 freshmen and AF Leadership for approximately 20 juniors.

Capt Farrington enlisted in 1999, completed his Bachelor’s degree in Natural Science and Mathematics in 2010, and was a Distinguished Graduate when he commissioned through Officer Training School (OTS) in 2011. Capt Farrington has been in the Weather career field his entire career, spending 8 years as conventional Meteorological and Oceanographic (METOC) support to Special Operations Forces. His forecasting assignments include the 21st Operational Weather Squadron at Sembach AB, Germany, HQ Air Force Weather Agency at Offutt AFB, Nebraska, the 23rd Weather Squadron at Hurlburt Field, Florida, and the 612th Air Operations Center at Davis-Monthan AFB, Arizona. Capt Farrington has deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan and has forecasting experience at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels on every continent except Antarctica. Capt Farrington was selected by the Air Force Institute of Technology to complete his Master of Science degree which he earned in Atmospheric Sciences at North Carolina State University in 2015.
